Demolition Records Commission
I was commissioned to photograph Skyclad, a folk metal band who are signed to Demolition Records in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Skyclad have been together for over 20 years and have released many albums during this time. The band requested some musician head shots for the cd booklet of their forthcoming album 'A Semblance Of Normality'. I had a concept of the style of photographs which would suit the band, and at the same time look eye-catching on the booklet. I met up with the band on other occasions for location shots at Bede's World, South Tyneside and a live concert at Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. The results of these commissions can be seen below. Healthy Horizons Commission
Throughout 2007 I was commissioned to photograph many of the 'Healthy Horizons' keep fit classes within the County Durham area. The 'Healthy Horizons' project currently deliver a program of physical activities that take place within community venues across Durham and Chester-le-Street. The project aims to increase participation in physical activity in older people aged 50+ though particularly the more elderly and those living in disadvantaged communities. Chester-Le-Street council, in partnership with Age Concern, commissioned me to photograph the sessions and my work was published in brochures, leaflets and flyers that were distributed throughout the region in the hope of attracting new members to their classes. Since the publications were distributed there has been a steady increase of new members enrolling at the classes and this has led to more commission work with Derwentside Age Concern in County Durham. Risen Prophecy Commission
Risen Prophecy is a four piece metal band based in Sunderland, England. They have been described as Sunderland's answer to Motorhead by many, but the band have always denied any resemblance and feel that if they could only aspire to a small proportion of Motorhead's success they would have achieved what most would dream of in a lifetime (apart from the fact that they sound nothing like Motorhead). Risen Prophecy is becoming more popular on the live metal band scene in the Sunderland area with each gig seeing more people turning out to support them as they grow in popularity. The band have their own website at www.risenprophecy.com and a selection of my work can be seen on its pages. Below you'll find examples of the commissioned location shots in the Sunderland area.
