Gary Numan (Live In Concert) Part 2

More live music photography, in the shape of Gary Numan, one of the pioneers of synth-pop, who burst onto the British music scene back in 1979. His debut hit 'Are Friends Electric' was the first vinyl record I ever bought and it signaled not only my interest in pop music, but also the beginning of my admiration of Numan's electronic music. Fast forward 40 odd years and I'm still very much interested in Gary's career.

I've been lucky enough to attend quite a few of Gary Numan's live shows in recent years and on this page you'll find a collection of photographs that I captured in a live music situation. They were all captured on a humble compact digital camera, from an audience perspective. I could only wish to shoot officially, from the photographers pit, but I haven't had that privilege yet, so I went ahead and made the best from the situation I found myself in. I was quite lucky to stand near the front of house for this collection of shots - it pays to arrive early at the venue to get a prime spot!

 

My trusty Canon compact camera didn't let me down, even in a challenging situaton, with the ever changing light to deal with. Don't get me wrong...I had a fair few duff shots, but amongst them was a fair few gems, which you can see for yourself.
