Rydal Grotto - A Hidden Gem Of The Lake District, UK

Occasionally, when surfing the internet, I discover an unknown place that immediately catches my attention. It's one of those when you find yourself scrolling down a page and then suddenly you see a photograph that stops you in your tracks and you scroll no more. Rydal Grotto is one of those places that I simply had to visit, after I saw a photo of it that was captured in all its Autumn glory. This was almost fairytale storybook. A tiny brick building, on the edge of a stream, with a view of a waterfall, through its window. Factor in a stone bridge and the golden leaves of Autumn and you have yourself a picture postcard view, right there!

After a week of heavy rainfall, I headed over to Rydal Hall in the English Lake District, to check out this amazing 'Hidden Gem'. It certainly didn't disappoint. The waterfall was in full flow, to say the very least. In between rain showers, I grabbed a few photographs from different areas and vantage points within Rydal Hall. I also grabbed some HD video footage with my GoPro Action Cam, which you can view here. This place is a 'must see' for anyone who loves the outdoors, and in particular, the Lake District. If you're into photography, this place will not disappoint, especially when it's bathed in lovely light and the warm colours of Autumn. Enjoy!
