Well, it's five months in the making and ashleycorr.com is now looking like a website. God knows how many hours I've put in to date, but I'm beginning to see the finish line and it's a nice feeling. The best part about this laborious task is that I've really enjoyed building my new site. I decided during the Summer of 2021 that I was going to build the site during the dark nights, between October 2021, and heading into March 2022. With more than 130 pages to build, I knew it was going to be a long, drawn out process and I didn't want to be stuck behind a laptop for months on end, especially during the light Summer nights. So here I am, on the final hurdle of the journey. I hit a few brick walls along the way, but after some serious head scratching, I managed to overcome those web-build snags, before powering on and completing all the pages. It was then a case of fine tuning it all and checking for spelling & grammar errors, as well as broken links, etc.
The desktop version of my site is exactly how I want it, for now at least. I dare say I'll implement a few changes here and there, whenever it suits. As for the mobile version of my site, well that held up my progress and the eventual launch date of my site. I assumed that my mobile phone would show the desktop version of my new site, but it didn't, even in landscape format, so I had to basically pull each element into position and build the whole site again, for mobile use. Each element from the desktop version was there, but as mobile phones are mostly viewed in portrait format, I had to reposition the whole lot to suit. It took a couple of weeks to complete, but I'm over the finish line now, so all is good.
Here is a few screenshots of my work in progress. Not long before it goes live!!!
Cheers, Ash
