Way back, as a teenager in the late 70's, I discovered pop music, in the form of Gary Numan (previously Tubeway Army). Credited as one of the pioneers of synthesiser music in the UK, Gary Numan had a long lasting impact on my musical tastes, and over 40 years later, it still has that same affect on me.

Although I got into concert photography fairly late, in my mid twenties, I kinda made up for lost time by going to as many live shows as possible and a fair few of those were to see Gary Numan.

Here is a collection of live music images featuring Gary and his band, which were captured in the north-east of England, where I am based. Every image in the collection was taken using a compact camera or a mobile phone, from the audience, near the front.

As I write this paragraph, it's now late May 2024, and as Gary is now aged 64, I attended his latest north-east gig a few days ago and it's safe to say, he's back on top form and pulling in some big crowds, in sold out venues. Long may it continue...
